Senior Decarbonisation Lead

TalentCo Melbourne is an Australian mining and resources company with operations in iron ore, copper, gold, and metallurgical coal across Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland. We have committed to net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2050, with an interim 30% absolute reduction by 2030.

Role Overview: The Senior Decarbonisation Lead is a critical technical hire responsible for designing, driving, and technically anchoring the company's decarbonisation roadmap across Australian assets including mining, processing, fleet, and energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development and refinement of decarbonisation roadmap
• Translate climate commitments into asset-level abatement plans
• Lead technical design and delivery of electrification, renewable energy, fuel switching, and process electrification programs
• Maintain awareness of mining decarbonisation technology
• Provide technical leadership on GHG inventory and carbon management
• Serve as spokesperson on decarbonisation with stakeholders
• Lead multidisciplinary team across Australian portfolio

Qualifications:

• Minimum 15 years technical experience in decarbonisation or energy transition, preferably in Australian mining or heavy industry
• Proven leadership of complex decarbonisation programs
• Deep knowledge of mining operations and energy infrastructure
• Experience in haul truck electrification, renewable integration, hydrogen or alternative fuels
• Strong understanding of GHG accounting and climate disclosure
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Applied Science
